P.F.A Update

Dear all,

We  have had a very successful term with various fund raising events. We began with the children's Halloween Disco, the children looked wonderful in their costumes and scary faces, so much so we didn't recognise some!! This event raised £90.00.

We then had our 'Design your own Christmas Card' this proved to be a huge success with Christmas cards, gift tags and mugs being ordered. A terrific £370.00 was raised. As we did the tea towels last year and now the Christmas cards/tags/mugs this year we will need to be thinking of next year. I thought about a Calendar with every child in the school on. If anyone has any other suggestions we would be most grateful to hear them.

Finally, we had the 'Family Christmas Bingo' with just over 100 people attending. A great evening was had with various refreshments, a raffle and craft stall available on the night. Thanks to the generosity of all of you we had fantastic prizes in exchange for a non uniform day. A fantastic £551. 07 was raised and we look forward to holding many more Bingo events in the future. As this event proved so popular the first time we did it we decided to pre-sell tickets this time as we didn't want to have to turn people away on the night. We are governed by Health and Safety with regard to numbers in the hall  and I appreciate some people were disappointed not to be able to get a ticket. This matter will be addressed at the next P.F.A meeting to see if we could have improved it in anyway we would appreciate any ideas/ solutions from yourselves.

Your generosity at these events has left our bank balance very healthy as you can imagine. Speaking with Mrs Savage she is very keen for us to have a beautiful Mural painted along the long corridor, which leads down to our new hall (alongside what was the old hall). It is currently just painted magnolia and so we have booked a professional artist to come and give us ideas and more importantly a price for this. We are also keen to provide more equipment for playtimes and lunch times for the children, as we want to make all times of the day a valuable and enjoyable experience for our children, whether inside or out.

This only leaves me to wish you all a 'Merry Christmas' and very 'Happy New Year'  and a massive thank you for all your support. We will let you all know when the next meeting is in the new year, we would always welcome new faces. If you can not attend the meetings but are happy to give some of your time at forthcoming events please let us know.

Kind Regards

Judith Dennis on behalf of all the P.F.A
