Dear all,
We have had another couple of successful events this term.
The Valentine Disco and Film night along with a raffle and refreshments at the
Year 3/4 ‘Hansel and Gretel’play added a further £275.00 to the PFA pot. The
Film Night proved to be a big hit with the children and they all seemed to
enjoy the films that had been chosen for them. At the end of this event we
encouraged the children to go away and write reviews on the ‘Film Club’
website. The Film Club representative for this area as offered prizes for the
best ones, so get reviewing!
I am aware that some of you were looking forward to another
Chocolate Bingo this Easter but as we had one at Christmas we decided to give
it a miss this time. We will however do one next Easter. Please feel free to
add any other suggestions for events as we are always willing to look at new
ideas.
In January, Mrs Savage contacted an artist to come into school and
give us ideas and a quote for a beautiful mural to be painted along the long
corridor in school. We are very excited as this was agreed and work takes place
for this during 3 weeks over Easter. All the classes in school have chosen
favourite characters from books to be painted in a bright, colourful
scene. We have agreed as a committee to
cover some of the cost for this along with the purchases of iPads for use in
all the classrooms. These will be used to educate the children in more fun and
varied ways.
Our final term will see the ever popular ‘Summer Fair’event
(date to be confirmed) which as I’m sure you appreciate takes quite a bit of
organising. We would be grateful if you could supply us with any unwanted
‘nearly new’ soft toys for our ‘Adopt a bear’ stall and adults/children’s books
for the ‘Second hand book stall’. Please bring into school and leave at the
office.
Finally a big ‘THANK YOU’ for your continued support and
have a wonderful Easter.
Kind Regards
Judith Dennis on behalf of all the PFA
