Egg Competition

Hello all,

Just felt I must let you all know of our successful events this term.

We began back in February with the Children's Film Night. The evening raised over £300 and the children enjoyed not only the films but their meal boxes too!

In March we held our popular Chocoholic Bingo. Over 100 people attended and refreshments proved to be a huge success. There was many a smiley face that left the school that night, laden with chocolate feasts. The amount raised was a fantastic £395.00!!

The week leading up to Mother's Day we had our own school Gift Shop. Both Children and Dads!! enjoyed choosing gifts for their special mums. This was not intended to be a fund raising event but due to the large quantity of items sold £120 profit was made.

To end the term we held an 'Egg Decorating Competition'. We were all amazed at all the wonderful creations and time that had been taken by all the entrants. Well done to you all!

THANK YOU

Dear all,

I would like to begin by saying a 'Big Thank You' for all your wonderful support last year. We had many enjoyable events ending with our 'Summer Fair' which made a fantastic £1,460!! We have been able to purchase a further 10 iPads for our children to use at school.

Speaking to many parents the class photographs proved to be a huge success and something we will look to do again next year.

On Sunday 8th September it is the annual Albert Village Open Day held around the lake. We thought it would be good to have a Tombola stall at the event and would be grateful if you could help us by providing any new items suitable for us to use. Please look out for a letter and flyer about this in your child's bag.

On Friday 27th Sept it is the 'Macmillan's Biggest Coffee Morning' we will be holding a coffee afternoon at school on this day to support it. More information to follow

In the next few weeks we will be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM), this is a chance to find out what the PFA is all about and hear about some of our forthcoming events. If you would like to get involved but are unable to make meetings please let me know as any support would be gratefully received.

Spring Update

Dear all,
We have had another couple of successful events this term. The Valentine Disco and Film night along with a raffle and refreshments at the Year 3/4 ‘Hansel and Gretel’play added a further £275.00 to the PFA pot. The Film Night proved to be a big hit with the children and they all seemed to enjoy the films that had been chosen for them. At the end of this event we encouraged the children to go away and write reviews on the ‘Film Club’ website. The Film Club representative for this area as offered prizes for the best ones, so get reviewing!

I am aware that some of you were looking forward to another Chocolate Bingo this Easter but as we had one at Christmas we decided to give it a miss this time. We will however do one next Easter. Please feel free to add any other suggestions for events as we are always willing to look at new ideas.
In January, Mrs Savage contacted an artist to come into school and give us ideas and a quote for a beautiful mural to be painted along the long corridor in school. We are very excited as this was agreed and work takes place for this during 3 weeks over Easter. All the classes in school have chosen favourite characters from books to be painted in a bright, colourful scene.  We have agreed as a committee to cover some of the cost for this along with the purchases of iPads for use in all the classrooms. These will be used to educate the children in more fun and varied ways.

Our final term will see the ever popular ‘Summer Fair’event (date to be confirmed) which as I’m sure you appreciate takes quite a bit of organising. We would be grateful if you could supply us with any unwanted ‘nearly new’ soft toys for our ‘Adopt a bear’ stall and adults/children’s books for the ‘Second hand book stall’. Please bring into school and leave at the office.
Finally a big ‘THANK YOU’ for your continued support and have a wonderful Easter.

Kind Regards
Judith Dennis on behalf of all the PFA

VALENTINES DISCO

We all had an enjoyable time at the Valentine Disco. There were games, lots of dancing and even a few cards and gifts were exchanged. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

VALENTINES DISCO

We have decided not to have a tuck shop for the Key Stage One disco this time and instead include a bag of sweets and drinks in the entrance price of £2.00. This is to make it easier for our younger children.
Thank You
